Likewise, we're back in Ithaca. Not exactly a fresh start. And I wasn't ready to come back. Maybe that's why my journey here has been more difficult than yours.

But here we are, and like you, most of what I'm thinking about/ feeling/ working through/ pondering/ dreaming about has been happening on the inside. One Great Dewdrop is, for the moment, silent. As it should be.

Don't worry about writing. When you're back, you realize that no one actually... I don't know... understands, or can possibly understand. That's ok. You've got Tom. I've got Davo. That's been enough, and, combined with everything else, I hope it continues to be enough.

And if it's not... there's only one cure for itchy feet: go somewhere. ;-)

It IS nice to hear from you, though!

I can definitely relate to what you mentioned about the feelings of astonishment over the natural beauty here at home. I don't think I fully appreciated how absolutely stunning the US is until we came back from our RTW trip. I can't count the number of times we've been on a drive - even if it's one I know well (like between our home in Cape Cod and back to Ohio to see my family) where I'll truly notice how stunning the scenery looks here too. It's been a wonderful side effect of all our travels to appreciate and notice home just as much too!

Crazy that it is all coming to an end soon, huh? Sounds like you actually have some sort of job to go back to, which is probably a good thing. We fly to NY on Jan 1, and I also am feeling happy to go back, but at the same time not looking forward to being done traveling. We just got to Israel last night, and I am already feeling a bit of a culture shock being back in the developed world. Probably good that you guys spent time in NZ after being in Asia before going back to the US. Also noticed the comment on CS. Once we finally have a place to live in the US that's not my Mom's house, I am sure we'll be hosting as well. Best way to see a place.
